A reboot of the days where famous faces starred in one film is in the works from the camp of Yvonne Nelson’s ‘YN productions’, the 2018 Ghana Movie Awards best actress winner has announced.
Speaking on Paragon FM in Takoradi, Yvonne disclosed about a possible production to be made and gave a hint of the cast programmed to be on board. She said, “I have this wonderful script that I want to shoot this year. I actually have Jackie Appiah, Yvonne Okoro and myself on this project. I have already spoken to them. So yes, we will be working this year.” The trio were last seen in Abdul Salam Mumuni’s 2010 comedy movie ‘4Play Reloaded’.
The former cover girls for Glitz Africa Magazine, have all attained solid feats in the movie industry throughout their decade-long acting careers and as such, fans have been anticipating for their comeback in one film. The two notable Yvonne’s together with Jackie Appiah have all scored nominations and wins at award ceremonies organized in Ghana and beyond.
In 2007, Jackie Appiah became the first Ghanaian actress to win an Africa Movie Academy Award in a supporting role, and later took home the best actress win in 2010, alongside Lydia Forson and Naa Ashorkor for ‘Perfect Picture’. Yvonne Okoro also doubles as a multiple nominee for the AMAAs and the 2014 best film winner for her debut produced film ‘Contract’. Back in 2012 at the Ghana Movie Awards, Yvonne Nelson’s ‘Single and Married’ film won the best picture prize and has over the years scored countless nods for her subsequent produced films.
Not only are they credited as gurus in film, but also in style and elegance, as they have all featured prominently in our traditional Glitz Style awards ceremony. Yvonne Nelson is the first winner of the ‘Most Stylish Movie Personality’ award in 2015, whiles Jackie Appiah has nabbed back-to-back nominations in 2017 and 2018. Okoro on the hand made an appearance in 2016 as an award presenter (a platform given to only fashion and style enthusiasts).
