R&B Singer Raheem Devaughn in Ghana for Back2Africa Festival

Back2Africa Festival and Tour, a social event with a mission to connect people of African descent with the culture and traditions of Africa will feature live performances from America’s sociopolitical-minded musical duo, Raheem DeVaughn and Wes Felton from The CrossRhodes. This event happening in partnership with The Ghana Tourism Authority and the Year of Return will take place from the 26th of February to the 8th of March 2019.

About Artists 

Raheem DeVaughn

Raheem DeVaughn is an American RnB singer and songwriter. His debut album, The Love Experience reached No. 46 on the US Billboard200 album chart.  Raheem has cultivated an image as the “Love King” and become of one of music’s most respected artists, earning two BET Awards and three Grammy Nominations.

Wes Felton

Wes Felton is an African-American singer/poet/actor/emcee born and raised in Washington DC. Son of Jazz Legend and Pioneer Hilton C. Felton Jr, Wes has continued his legacy of making musical footprints including Kings In The Wilderness, Mike Died Yesterday, and Tis the Seething.

The Organizer – Diallo “Daheart” Sumbry (The Adinkra Group)

Mr. Diallo “Daheart” Sumbry is founder of The Adinkra Group, an African Cultural Edutainment Resource and Consulting company based in Washington, DC and organisers of the Back2Africa Festival and Tour.  Mr. Sumbry is also the current and founding member of the Year of Return Steering Committee and has been a key figure in the planning and development of the Year of Return, Ghana 2019 program since inception.

About Back2Africa Festival and Tour

The Back2Africa Festival and Tour began in 2018 and is part of events programmed for the “Year of Return”, a year-long calendar of activities in “celebration of the resilience of the African spirit” coordinated by Ghana Tourism Authority, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
