Sam McKnight to receive Isabella Blow Award at 2019 Fashion Awards

For most parts of the late princess Diana’s reign as princess of Wales, her go-to hairstylist for seven years was British Vogue’s Contributing Editor Sam McKnight. Patronized for his captivating good works in the beauty and fashion industry, be it editorial, commercial or runway, McKnight’s decades spanning career will be recognized at the 2019 Fashion Awards as recipient of the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator.

McKnight is being honored for his invaluable contribution to the fashion industry, his remarkable effort in changing the role of the session stylist within fashion and for his unique ability to create modern and glamorous looks.

“We are thrilled to present the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator to the legendary Sam McKnight and acknowledge him for his incredible contribution to the global fashion industry. Sam is one of the most important image-makers of our time, highly respected within the fashion community and a source of inspiration for many generations to come. We look forward to celebrating with him and his friends in London in December,” wrote Caroline Rush, British Fashion Council chief executive in statement.

Huge as his name is in the Beauty space, McKnight’s enviable works can be traced in the recorded images of celebrity heavyweights such as Kate Moss, Lady Gaga, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid and many more. Famous fashion brands like Gucci, Chanel, Balmain, Fendi and Burbery, all owe a portion of their headlined commercials to the touch McKnight brought on their sets.
