‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ producer Graham King developing Michael Jackson film

An adaptation about the life and early career of the late king of pop, Michael Jackson is under works.

With no production house attached to the developing project, Graham King, the famous producer behind the Oscar nominated film ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ has been granted access by Jackson’s estate to start with the project and only use the pop-star’s recorded songs.

The film will bring on screen, Michael’s beginnings with The Jackson Five, his rise to pop stardom, legal struggles with both civil and criminal lawsuits stemming from allegations of child sex abuse.

During the 2019 award season, Graham’s film ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, which chronicled the life of the late Queen band member Freddy Mercury, became an ultimate contender throughout the season. The film won for the best drama motion picture category at the Golden Globe and scored an Oscar nomination in the best picture category, whiles Rami Malek won for best actor in the lead role with his Freddy Mercury screen acting performance.

In anticipation of the upcoming film, Jackson’s estate is currently battling it out in court with Time Over, parent company to HBO, over the documentary ‘Leaving Neverland’ which alleged child sex abuse by Jackson. The estate is also developing a Broadway show ‘MJ the Musical’, it stars Ephraim Sykes as Michael Jackson.
