Victoria Beckham launches branded T-shirts in support of International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is just around the corner and in preparation for the big day for women around the world, Victoria Beckham, alongside Alexa Chung, Isabel Marrant, Roise Assoulin have partnered with Net-a-Porter in creating T-shirts branded with words that speak volumes of female bravery and empowerment. Profits that will be made out of the sales will go to the Women for Women International non-profit organisation that provides practical and moral support to female survivors of war.

Speaking about the importance of purchasing the branded T-shirt, Beckham lauded, “By purchasing this tee, you are supporting a charity that helps vulnerable women living in some of the world’s most dangerous places. Generally, I think we could all start by being a little kinder to one another. Everyone has a duty to support women in finding their voice and surely kindness is a good place to start.”

Back in 2018, sales from her campaign with Net-a-Porter were used to support over 170 women through the charity’s year-long training programme.

The day solely set for the celebration of women around the globe is seen by the fashion designer as something which goes beyond just women empowering each other. She disclosed to vogue, “To me, International Women’s Day is more than women supporting women. It’s about men and women supporting, respecting and empowering women and educating future generations.”

The fashion designer in her statement also championed the cause for women to see the need and importance of hard work when they are faced with sexism, regardless whichever curriculum they find themselves at. Using her life experience as a focal point, she said, “I’ve faced a lot of challenges over the years, as many women have, but I try to see past them and learn from them. It’s a lot of hard work and I’m still learning and navigating my way, but I’m very lucky that I have been able to surround myself with an amazing team who support me and inspire me.”

The annual International Women’s Day celebration comes off on Friday March 8.
