Twinsdntbeg celebrate first photo exhibition + creative showcase at French Ambassador’s residence in Ghana

On Sunday, 3rd April, two of Ghana’s most versatile creatives Samuel and Emmanuel Appiah Gyan, better known as TwinsDntBeg celebrated the opening of their first photo exhibition featuring work from the past 7 years as well as some of their creative collaborations in fashion, media and lifestyle. Over 600 guests including foreign dignitaries, celebrities, media personalities, and special guests, the Second Lady of Ghana, Samira Bawumia and Ghanaian industrialist, Freedom Jacob Caesar attended the exhibition and after party which was held at the residence of France’s Ambassador to Ghana, Madame Sophie Ann Ave hosted in partnership with the Embassy of France and Lakeside Village.

Twinsdntbeg showcased 120 images featuring their photography and filmmaking work from around the world including coverage of presidential activities and programs in their capacity as the official photographers of the Second Lady of Ghana, entertainment events such as the BET Awards and Kenya Fashion Week, celebrity shoots with Jamie Foxx, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and Stefflondon, and artistic pieces showcasing the beauty of everyday life of Africans across the continent.

Several pieces from the exhibition were auctioned during the program hosted by veteran media personality Abeiku Santana, followed by an haute couture fashion presentation by designer Pascaline Edwards, the launch of TwinsDntBeg Collection of African inspired menswear, and live performances by some of Ghana’s leading musical artists such as Yaw Tog, Camidoh, Bisa Kdei, Kofi Jamar, and KiDi and music from DJs Andy Dosty, Short Flex, and Maleek with guest event MC Harold Amenyah.

Twinsdntbeg were surprised with a cake by Second Lady Bawumia as they celebrated their birthday on the actual day of the exhibition and the crowd was led by Ambassador Ave in singing “Happy Birthday” to them. The team from Lakeside Village also presented custom artworks to Twinsdntbeg as a special birthday gift.

“We were overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support we received from our friends, family, business associates, and fellow creatives to make our first exhibition a reality. This was beyond anything we could have imagined and we hope it will serve as an inspiration to other aspiring and emerging artists as to what is possible,” said Samuel Appiah Gyan, one half of TwinsDntBeg.

“We are very grateful to the hospitality of Madame Sophie Ann Ave for believing in our vision, the partnership of 36 Net Vista, the presence and birthday cake from the Second Lady, the inspiring words of Freedom Jacob Caesar and purchase of the first photograph to be auctioned, and to all of our sponsors, artists, DJs, and MCs who supported us in this venture,” added Emmanuel Appiah Gyan.

The TwinsDntbeg exhibition and creative showcase was a monumental event which elevated the presence and importance of young creatives in Ghana and their contributions to the country. In addition to the Embassy of France and Lakeside Village, the program was supported by WaxPrint Media, Front/Back, Nicholas Feiullate champagne, Martini, Kasapreko, Accra Breweries, Rune Ushers, and 360 Ushers.
