Tuesday, 3rd January 2023 – Accra: The premium lifestyle brand Glitz Africa, organized the 2023 edition of She Boss, the private networking event for female corporates and entrepreneurs at Makosa Restaurant inside Sandbox Beach Club.
The Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Claudia Lumor welcomed the guests and encouraged them to network and build relationships with each other as they could be one another’s next business partners. The event was hosted by Mz Dru.
The South African Commissioner to Ghana, H.E. Grace Jeanet Mason who graced the event as Special Guest, delivered her keynote message, encouraging the guests present to support and empower each other as women. The Deputy Director of Diaspora Affairs, Office of the President, Dr. Nadia Musah Adongo also shared some remarks about the impact of people from the diaspora visiting the country.
AJ Akua Okyerebea Johnson, an American Actress, fitness trainer, and life coach also shared her remarks on the need for women to stand together to make their dreams come true.
The ace media personality Anita Erskine moderated the panel discussion on the theme, “The Full Circle – Creating a community of empowered women and harnessing innovation” with Dr. Meda Leacock (TV & Film Personality/ Producer/ Director/Entrepreneur), Deborah Ababio (Director, Condé Nast – Vogue), Karlie Redd (Television Personality/Rapper/ Model), and Aisha Ayensu (Founder & Creative Director, Christie Brown) as speakers.
A profound remark shared was the fact that though black women were powerful in their own right, they also needed help from each other to grow.
There was a recital about womanhood by a poet named Lawrencia and the trio group ‘Blossom’ also entertained the guests with some music covers. H.E Grace Jeanet Mason was surprised with a cake as it happened to be her birthday.
Claudia Lumor presented She Boss citations of honour to some inspirational personalities such as Valerie Obaze (CEO, R&R Luxury), Femi Asante (CEO, Groupe Sebastien), Farida Alabo-Moffet (CEO, Morrana Studio), Adeline Akufo-Addo Kufuor (Co-founder, The Lotte Accra), Tracy Wilson Mourning (Founder, Honey Shine Mentoring Program) and AJ Johnson (Actress, Fitness Trainer & Life Coach).
