One-time Oscar winners, Sam Rockwell, Octavia Spencer and Allison Janney are teaming up together to star in ‘The Heart’, which will be written and directed the duo Oscar winners Nat Faxon and Jim Rash.
The plot of the film is set with Rockwell playing Joe and Spencer as Lucy. A couple who, while desperate for cash, agree to take the job of delivering a human heart from New York to Florida in 24 hours. When they realize that their delivery is destined for a black-market buyer who illegally skipped the donor list, they try to reroute the heart to its rightful recipient, only to be hunted down by insane criminals. Those include the greedy millionaire buyer, his scorned brother and Lucy’s own drug-dealing ex-boss, played by Janney.
Academy award best picture nominated film ‘Manchester by the Sea’ producers, Kevin Walsh and Ryan Stowell, will produce the film via their Walsh company banner. The film is set to start production late 2019 and Sierra/Affinity will launch international sales at the European Film Market in Berlin.
The three Hollywood stars are all credited with one Academy award win, despite several nominations. Octavia won her best supporting actress Academy award in 2011 with the movie ‘The Help’. Last year at the 90th Academy awards show, Allison and Rockwell also won their first Oscar plaque, where Allison won for best supporting actress for ‘I, Tonya’ and Rockwell also won for ‘ Three Billboard Outside Ebbing, Missouri’.
Rockwell is repped by Gersh and United Entertainment; Spencer is with WME; and Janney is repped by Gersh and Thruline Entertainment.
