Jennifer Lopez to receive CFDA Fashion Icon of the Year Award

The name Jennifer Lopez, is not new to the books of fashion risk takers. The ‘I aint your mama’ singer is all set to receive the honorary title as the Fashion Icon of the year, presented by CFDA Awards. Jennifer succeeds Kim Kardashian West, who took home the bragging rights last year.

Throughout her decade-stay in Hollywood, Jennifer has produced fashion ensembles that leaves cameras rolling all day long for Instagram feeds. Her 2000 plunging jungle green Versace dress to the Grammys, still make waves when calling on Grammy best dresses of all time. Her mint Valentino gown worn to the Oscars in 2003 is never ruled out from Oscar favorites. Jennifer’s selfless way of carrying out fashion cloths has cemented her name in the lead records of top slayers.

Commenting on the singer’s choices in terms of what she wears, CFDA chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg, said, “Jennifer Lopez uses clothes as a way to express confidence and power. Both designers and fans look forward to her fashion statements.” As a favorite of many, Jennifer has worked with many designers including the incoming chairman of the CFDA, Tom Ford, which she wore his mirrored dress to the 2019 Academy Awards, as well as worked with some members of the CFDA who likes to dress her up for occasions.

“Jennifer Lopez’s style is bold, uninhibited, and always memorable. Designers, including many of our CFDA members love to dress her for both stage and private moments,” disclosed Steven Kolb, president and CEO of the CFDA in a press statement.

Jennifer will have her name penned down amongst recognized icons such as Beyoncé, Naomi Campbell, Rihanna, Iman, Kate Moss and others who have received the CFDA honoree in the past years. The ceremony is slated to take place on June 3, at the Brooklyn museum.
