Christy Rilling debuts bespoke fashion collection

To anyone who has admired the worn before interview outfits, dinner dresses at the White House and State address costumes of Michelle Obama during her tenure and post-office days is in luck to own an ensemble made by the charming hands of the lady behind the Obama daily closet wears. The former first lady’s tailor  has launched her first ever bespoke collection themed, autumn winter 2019 bespoke collection.

The collection comes in 19 items including gowns, crinolines, blazers, pants, bustiers, chiffon blouses, skirts, cashmere coats, slip dresses and wrap robes. Lucky patron of the pieces scores a chance of having a one-to-one fitting section as well as custom-made mannequins and bespoke embellishments.

Working closely together with Obama since 2010, has secured her a favorable image in the eyes of the New York best-selling author. Obama disclosed, “I’ve always appreciated the incredible artistry in all of Christy’s work. Her attention to detail and master tailoring has always left me feeling confident and beautiful, no matter what I’m wearing. With her years of experience, her new line of custom pieces will be a breath of fresh air for women everywhere.”

The star tailor already has a celebrity-filled list as clients of her work, either they are walking on red carpets or gracing magazine covers, counting from Beyoncé, Jennifer Lawrence, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Jessica Chastain, Priyanka Chopra, Gal Gadot, Gina Rodriguez, Brie Larson, Bruce Sprinsteen, Emma Stone, Rachel Brosnahan, Emilia Clarke and U.S Representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez.

Rilling’s famous designs in past years can be backed with Lawrence’s engagement party gown, Priyanka’s 2019 Vogue cover outfit, Benedict Cumberbatch’s 2019 Met Gala costume and Juliane Moore’s Time 100 Gala gown.

Commenting on the inspiration behind her debut collection, Rilling attributes it to the gallery of Hollywood stars she has being fortunate to work with. “These are creative women who love art and culture, give back to society and want to look effortless and refined. They’ve been my inspiration and I wanted to offer a collection that’s luxurious, subtly elegant and easy to wear.”

Prices tag from $1,100 for a top to $12,000 for a coat gown.
