Top 10 Oscars Red Carpet Looks in the Last Ten Years.

This year’s Oscars is scheduled to happen on the 9th of February and just like you, we can’t wait to see our fave actresses and what they’ll wear on the red carpet. For the past couple of years, not only have we been intrigued by the surprises and snobs during the awards ceremony but we have been pleasantly surprised by the red carpet looks.

Ahead of this year’s Academy Awards, we have put together our top ten red carpet look from actresses in the last decade. (2010 – 2019)

J Hud, 2011

Coming back after her win the previous year, J Hud looked stunning in this Atelier Versace halter neck gown. This look makes it into our top 10 because we simply haven’t seen her look better. The tangerine colour choice was just perfect.

Cate Blancett, 2011

Cate Blachett undoubtedly always looks elegant on the red carpet, however, this marrying of crystals and pearls on a stunning Givenchy Haute Couture takes the win! Her subtle Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry complimented the look perfectly.

Mandy Moore, 2012

American sweetheart, Mandy Moore easily made our top 10 list because of this ethereal nude illusion featuring befitting ivory blush tones by way of tulle. The sequined detail of this dress is nothing but immaculate.

Meryl Streep, 2012

Yes, we are surprised the legendary Meryl Streep made the list too but this effortless toga-inspired goddess of everything gold Lanvin gown couldn’t be ignored. To know that she took home the award for best actress that year for the movie Iron Lady makes it even more befitting!

Mila Jovovich, 2012.

We rarely get to see Mila Jovovich on the Oscars Red Carpet but this pearly white 2012 look is cemented in our memories for life! She looked resplendent in an Ellie Saab gown and paired it with an Edie Parker clutch. Nothing says femme fatale more than a ruby red lip!

Lupita Nyongo, 2014.

What a way to make an Oscar debut! First time nominee, the beautiful Lupita Nyongo, reinvented the powder blue colour in this Prada gown.

Lady Gaga, 2015.

We couldn’t have completed this list without a masterpiece from Azzedine Alaia. Trust Lady Gaga to make a bold statement on any red carpet, (Remember her raw meat dress?) even her Oscars red carpet debut!

Margot Robbie, 2018

Following the nomination for her stellar performance in I,Tonya, Margot Robbie stole our hearts with this all white off-the-shoulder Chanel gown. What elevated this simple and classy gown was the embellished neckline.

Zendaya Coleman, 2018.

Zendaya has never had a bad red carpet moment or any bad fashion moment for that matter. In 2018, she took the very underrepresented brown colour and still looked sultry on the Oscars red carpet. It is always obvious she chooses comfort and also incorporates her personal style. This Giambatista Valli gown is no difference!

Lady Gaga, 2019.

The A Star is Born nominee, Lady Gaga, makes a second entry into our top 10 list with this breathtaking, custom, sculptural, black Alexander McQueen gown. She made the moment an iconic one by pairing it with the 128.54-carat Tiffany & Co yellow diamond necklace worn by Audrey Hepburn way back in 1961 while promoting Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
