The 2018 edition of the annual Radio and Television Awards (RTP) took place on Saturday, October 6, at the Accra International Conference Center.
The event which honors the best in the media and communications fraternity gave out plaques of recognition to well-deserved media houses, individuals in the industry and groups that have performed beyond the usual in the year under review. The ultimate winner of the night was the multiple award winning show hostess, Stacy Amoateng who ruled with three wins including the coveted title ‘RTP Personality of the Year’. GHOne TV’s news anchor and cheers presenter, Serwaa Amihere won the Female Newscaster of the year, which she solely dedicated to her mentor, Nana Aba Anamoah for grooming her into who she is today.
The Despite Group of companies also won the Media Group of the Year, with their Television station UTV winning the Television Station of the Year award. Other winners of the night included, Berla Mundi, Nana Aba Anamoah, Countryman Songo, DJ Vyrusky, Daniel Dzadi and more. The event was organized by Big Events Ghana and was graced with performances from KiDi, Adina, Wendy Shay, Kuami Eugene and Okomfour Kwadee.
