Major stars in entertainment and governance are lining up for the Tim Shriver 24-hour live-stream initiative ‘The Call to Unite’, which is aimed at providing lessons, performances and conversations to help everyone going through some difficulty during this season of COVID-19 pandemic.
Big names such; Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, Common, Alanis Morissette, Charlamagne tha God, Daniel Dae Kim, Deepak Chopra, Eva Longoria, Josh Groban, Jennifer Garner, Mandy Moore, Maria Shriver, Naomi Campbell, Martin Sheen, Quincy Jones, George W. Bush, Martin Luther King III, Tim Shriver, Marie Kondo, Minnie Driver, Jewel, Debbie Allen and more have joined the line-up of participants for the event.
“Today, billions of people around the world are isolated and anxious because of the COVID-19 pandemic, unable to gather with loved ones, go to work, or even mourn those they have lost. Still, in this moment of isolation, millions are rising to the occasion by showing each other love and support in countless ways. ‘The Call to Unite’ is a celebration of
those acts of humanity, and an invitation to the world to join in lifting one another in this moment of need. We need each other. Now more than ever,” disclosed the event’s press release.
Unite.us will live-stream the entire event together with Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, LinkedIn and SiriusXM Stars channel 109. Spotify on the other hand, will provide segments from the event on-demand within the 24-hour period and afterwards.
GiveDirectly and Points of Light will also be onboard as service partners providing the right channel for viewers who would love to donate in cash or in service as volunteers to help families and communities affected most by the pandemic.
The event starts on Friday May 1, 8 p.m E.T to Saturday May 2, at 8 p.m.
