Friends of UNFPA is an initiative lead by myself as UNFPA Ambassador for Ghana.
We are people passionate to make the world a better place especially for women and girls.
Our purpose is to advocate using our various capabilities to help bring to zero the unmet need for family planning, maternal mortality and sexual & gender-based practices as well as harmful practices, together as Friends of UNFPA.
Let’s always bear these in mind: the ‘kayayo’ girl who is exposed to rape and other forms of abuse because she sleeps in the open; the woman who is mercilessly beaten by a man who is supposed to care for her; the 10-year-old girl who is sold into marital slavery to a man who could father her just because her parents cannot cater for her, and many others which I believe we are all aware of.
Indeed the needs of young people, women and girls, are vast and varied. However, I believe that together, in our own unique capacities, we can make the much needed difference for the good of Ghana.
