Weekend watch list – In honour of Denzel Washington

Denzel Washington is one out of the five actors nominated for SAG outstanding performance by a male actor in a leading role. His impeccable interpretation of the character Macbeth in Joel Coen’s ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’ has undoubtedly reminded audience that he stays atop of the best performers in Hollywood.

Washington, who stars opposite three-time Oscar winner Frances McDormand (Lady Macbeth) in this black and white classic has for decades defined his craft onscreen as a timeless delivery well-clipped for generations yet unborn.

Till date, some of his featured works in the early and late 90s marvel spectators of today (check Malcolm X, 1992). From energetic action roles (The Training Day) to numb dramas that squeezes emotions (Fences), Washington has literally done it all.

As we prep our couches and evening wine glasses for a night watch of ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’ released on Apple TV Plus today, we dedicate our weekend watch list to honour, applaud and celebrate one of the greatest actors of modern time, Denzel Washington.
