Silverbird cinemas and West Hills Mall Cinemas suspend operations due to coronavirus

You can now add Silverbird Cinemas at Accra Mall and West Hills Mall Cinemas to the worldwide film-showing theaters that have been closed down due to coronavirus outbreak.

Management announced yesterday in an Instagram post which read, “We’re sorry to announce that Silverbird Cinemas, West Hills and Accra Mall would be shut down till further notice.”

In the caption part that tagged along the post, management further advised the general public to sanitize their hands and stay safe, while awaiting better experience at both cinemas when operations resume later.

Following the orders given by the President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, on Sunday evening to suspend all public gatherings that envelops more than 25 people at a time, Accra Music Expo which was slated to take place on March 21, and Music of Ghanaian Origin concert, which was scheduled for March 28 by Citi TV both got postponed to a later date which will be announced as soon as the situation dies down.

Ghana has so far recorded 6 cases as against the thousands of confirmed cases across other countries.
