Shatta Wale featured on Beyoncé’s ‘The Lion King: The Gift’ curated album

Highly acclaimed dancehall King Shatta Wale, has delivered a grand breakthrough international platform for Ghana. The 2014 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artist of the year winner has been featured on Beyoncé’s curated soundtrack ‘The Lion King: The Gift’, which pays homage to her recently starred live-action animated movie ‘The Lion King’.

On the tracklist, Beyoncé features Shatta Wale on the song ‘Already’. Some Nigerian top acts are also included on the album including, Wizkid, Mr. Eazi, Yemi Alade, Tekno, Burna Boy and Tiwa Savage. International superstars Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams together with queen Bee’s husband and ‘The Carters’ partner Jay-Z, all have recorded songs on the album.

Reports coming in also indicate that award-winning record producer Guiltybeatz also produced three songs for the album with credits to ‘Find Your Way Back (Circle of Life) sang by Beyoncé, ‘Already’ sang by Shatta Wale and Beyoncé and ‘Keys to The Kingdom’ sang by Tiwa Savage and Mr. Eazi.

In a released statement by Walt Disney, the production company disclosed of the album, “The album features a number of global recording artists and stepped in the sounds of Africa.” Soundtracks for the album is set for release on Friday July 19 by Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment along with the live-action film ‘The Lion King’.
