Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde conferred with Doctorate Degree in Arts

Confirmed – Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde MFR  has secured a new badge to her career defining accomplishments as an honorary recipient of a Doctors degree in Arts. The recognition was given her by the Igbinedion University Okada, in a held ceremony over the weekend.

The award-winning actress, who recently wrapped up from a new venture as the artistic director for Teffest (an entertainment fair and festival) shared the news via Instagram lauding the tiles, “Dr Mrs. Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, MFR Honorary Doctor of Arts (D.Arts). Thank you, Igbinedion University Okada. To God Be all the Glory.”

For over two decades and still counting in the creative arts sector, the ‘Ije’ actress forms part of the handful of Nollywood veterans still making waves amidst the new era of Nigeria entertainers. The debut Africa Movie Academy Awards won her the best supporting actress in 2005, followed by a best actress win at the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards in 2018 for her performance in ‘Alter Ego’. In 2014, she was honored by the Nigerian government as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR).

Aside her African-based accomplishments, Omotola made in it on the list of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the world, where she featured alongside Michelle Obama, Beyoncé and Kate Middleton. She currently is a voting member of the Oscars and multiplies as a one-time cover girl for Glitz Africa Magazine.
