MUSIGA donates to Kwadee

The Musicians Union of Ghana, MUSIGA has paid a kind visit together with some sorted items to Hiplife artist, Kwadee.

Okomfo Kwadee is currently under the supervision of a rehab center at Kwamo in the Ashanti region. The artist was reported to have had some mental issues six years ago after his attempt to come back into the music scene. Reports circulated few weeks ago that the family of the artist have abandoned him at the center with no one to care and look after him.

MUSIGA, which main objective is to seek the interest of Ghanaian musicians, both veteran and contemporary, donated packs of sachet water, drinks and an undisclosed amount of money to the artist. Ras Caleb Appiah Levi, Chairman of the Greater Accra wing of the union led the delegation who trooped in to the center to visit Kwadee.

In a report by citinewsroom.com, Caleb also cited that the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) also supported the union with an amount of 1,000 cedis to cater for their transportation to the place. Caleb also disclosed to Citi News in an interview that Kwadee is better now and does not live at the rehab center anymore.

“When we went we were told, he now lives with the leader of the rehab in her house but not at the rehab. He has also been made an ambassador for the Willing Ways Foundation,” said Caleb.

In the early 2000s, Kwadee was one of the most versatile artistes to reign in the music industry and per his hit songs that roused audience to their feet, he has gained the recognition as one of the legends in the music industry. Kwadee is credited for his songs such as, Ofie Nipa, Abrantee, Obaa No, Meyere ne me mpena.
