Sandra Odige the creative director of ‘’La Mode Fashion Design Brand’’ is passionate about fashion and using fashion to create awareness and impact lives. Hence, her annual initiative ‘’Green October Event’’ not just a fashion show event but an event that creates awareness for disability inclusion.

As an outstanding fashion personality, Sandra just had a successful fashion show called ‘’Green October Event’’ her 5th edition that took place October 1st ,2022 at the prestigious Oriental Hotel, Lagos. The event had in attendance, fashion designers, influencers, top personalities, and celebrities of all works of life. Sandra’s designs were seen on the runway as models of all size and shapes walked the runway showcasing her collections. The event has become a household name and has been tagged ‘’The biggest Independence Day event in Nigeria’’ due to the high quality of guests and focus of the event.

Known for her avant-garde style and innovative designs, Sandra saw an opportunity to advocate for change within the often-exclusive fashion industry. By incorporating models with disabilities, she sought to celebrate their unique beauty and raise awareness about the challenges they face in society.

The fashion show, is always held at the prestigious Oriental Hotel, Lagos, Nigeria, attracted a diverse audience, including top celebrities of all works of life, fashion enthusiasts, industry professionals, and members of the disability community. The inclusion of models with disabilities drew widespread attention and sparked conversations about representation in fashion and society.

Sandra gave opportunity for other fashion designers to showcase on her runway, giving room for creatives to showcase their designs and talents. As a norm, Sandra supports other fashion designers by giving them a platform to showcase their designs. Sandra is constantly promoting healthy competition in the fashion industry and fostering collaboration and network building.

Sandra ensured that her collection was accessible and inclusive for all participants. She collaborated with her models to design adaptive clothing, ensuring that the garments were not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical and comfortable for individuals with disabilities. From wheelchair-friendly designs to adaptable accessories, each piece was carefully crafted to cater to the specific needs of the models.

In an interview after the show, Sandra expressed her excitement about the impact her work had generated. She highlighted the importance of representation and inclusivity, emphasizing that society needs to recognize and embrace the diversity of disability.
