Joselyn Dumas to co-host the live telecast nominees’ announcement of AMVCA ’18

Award winning actress and media personality, Joselyn Dumas will co-host the nominees’ announcement for the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers Choice awards (AMVCA) with Nigerian comedian and actor, Bovi on Saturday, June 30.

The nominees’ announcement will be telecast live on all Africa Magic channels on DSTV and GOtv at 6pm GMT. AMVCA, is an annual award event organized by Africa Magic to celebrate excellence in Film every year. The award show made its debut in March 2013, when Ghanaian actress Jackie Appiah, won for best actress in a lead role drama.

In the following year 2014, Contract, which is Ghanaian produced movie by actress/producer Yvonne Okoro won the Best Movie West Africa. Throughout its 5 years of existence in the award seasons, producers and actors from Ghana have managed to make waves on the night with their nominations and eventual wins.

This year’s event is slated to take place on September 1 and comprises of 27 categories in all. With this year’s event fast approaching, Channel Director, Africa Magic, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwo revealed that close to 3000 entries were received across the continent.

She said, “We are honored to showcase and celebrate the creative industry each year on the platform of the AMVCAs. In the past five years, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to nurture and showcase indigenous talent from across the continent. Join us on Saturday, 30 June as we reveal the nominees for the sixth edition of the Awards”.
