Hulu to increase subscription fee for Live TV

Hulu is raising the stakes in terms of subscription fee to its Live TV bundle.

The streaming platform is set to charge $55 per month beginning December 18, 2019. The new price accompanying the Hulu subscription is a 22 percent increment from the previous $45 per month charge.

Released by the network in a blog post, the company disclosed, “The new price better reflects the substantial value of Hulu + Live TV and allows us to continue offering all of the popular live news, sports and entertainment programming included in the plan.”

“Price charges are never easy to stomach, and we know that many people don’t watch live television year-round, so we’ve made it easy for Hulu subscribers to switch back and forth between our plans to best suit their needs. We’re actively exploring ways to provide additional, more tailored live TV options to you in the future,” the blog post read further.

A featured article on the Hollywood Reporter indicates that the live TV bundle is a one option for Hulu subscribers and it also offers access on-demand programming for $6 per month (with ads) or $12 per month (without ads). Hulu is also now part of a bundle that includes Disney + and ESPN + priced at $13 for a month subscription after the Disney take over.

The new fee will affect both old and soon-to-be subscribers of Hulu.
