We’ve had the funny question-and-answer moments with some personalities, some questions involving their personal lives and experiences, others to clarify some rumors around them as at the time the issue was in the making and many more relatable questions with interesting answers.

Hold your loins as we take you down memory lane with our cover stars.

Issue 1 with John Dumelo

So is the celeb lifestyle really fabulous as we are made to believe…big houses, cars, designer clothes etc?

We try to package ourselves since branding is very important. You need to be aware where you live to even the car you drive…because someone may say, I look up to John or this person and look at what car he’s driving etc. So for a celeb, I guess you have to have all that and in our industry vanity is inevitable because someone is looking up to you but we try to subdue it.

Issue 9 with Ramsey Noah

What has been some of your challenges so far in the Industry?

There have been ups and downs. It has been a nose-dive. Fortunately, we are beginning to find our feet and put things together again. There’s been segregation in the market which hopefully, we will finetune in time. However, the industry has got its good side. Many people like to bask in the euphoria of fame, I’m not that kind. I love my private moments, I would like to be crazy and do my things by myself without having to worry about my environment, without being concerned about people watching me and having to comport myself. I would love situations where I can do that but the fame doesn’t allow you. There are times I wish I weren’t famous. These are some of the challenges.

Issue 10 with Joselyn Dumas

What’s your relationship with the musician Lynxx? Have you guys dated before?

No, Lynxx and I are very good friends. He came on my show and we became friends . One day he wanted to do a video for his song, “Fine Fine Lady” and he asked me to do it. At the time I wasn’t sure I wanted to do music videos, but he was insistent and said he needed me to do this so that the Nigerian market would see what I was made of. We are very good friends. One thing about Lynxx is that he feels very obligated to be protective of me in Nigeria. He made me realize I was a brand. In the beginning I didn’t have any plans, I just loved what I was doing. But the branding came about when I had friends like Lynxx and DJ OB telling me the do’s and don’ts about branding. He has been very instrumental.

Issue 12 with Lydia Forson

Are there specific women who have inspired you to embrace your curves?

I’ve never felt that I had to embrace my curves or body in anyway. To admit that would mean admitting that perhaps, what I look like isn’t ideal and for that reason I have to try to “accept” that I’m not like anyone else. Here’s the thing, I’m Lydia Forson. I’m bigger than another person, and another person is either smaller or bigger than me. I doubt the person smaller than me has gone through life wanting to commit suicide because she has a smaller behind than me. She would probably put on a butt pad and move on. I’m sorry, but the only way to make people understand this is to be as blunt as possible.

Issue 13 with Wiyaala

Has your partner been supportive of your music?

He has been very supportive. He allows me to be who I am and do whatever I like. In fact, with time, people will know who he is. The day he decides to put the ring on my finger, but since he’s refused to do that I won’t mention his name for him to enjoy any fame! I’m also sensitive about those kind of things because a lot of young girls are looking up to me. I don’t want it to look like today you are with this man; (the next day, you’re with another). So my management and I are a bit careful about such things.

Issue 18 with Juliet Ibrahim

What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

Well it’s more than one thing, I’m a very generous and jovial person. My close friends call me a clown and I’m quite shy as well as an introvert, I know people won’t believe that. I am family oriented and supportive of everyone who crosses my path  because I believe in showing others how to fish on their own. I am a survivor and a miracle as I experienced three civil wars as a child and literally had to grow and mature quickly in life. However, my experiences have molded me into who I am today. What breaks my heart the most is when someone I trust lets me down. I used to be a talented dancer back in school but I still dance anyway. I can do hair and nails, I’m good at massages and I’m a wonderful cook.

Issue 20 with Nana Ama McBrown

Tell me about your accident.

I think that was a blessing in disguise. Nobody wishes to have an accident neither did I. It happened and God turned it into a success story. My husband and I didn’t die, I got hurt because my arm got broken so I have metals in my arm now. I may not be very active with my right arm but it hasn’t affected me in any way. On the contrary, it has blessed me. After my accident, I think I’ve gotten about ten big endorsement deals. The accident was painful obviously; I lost my Range Rover, I almost lost my life, my husband and my hand but I have it altogether now. After that, God has blessed me so much. Talk of endorsement deals with Hisense, Tasty Tom, Soft Care Sanitary Pad and Baby Diapers, Envirofit Coalpots, EECE Ghana, UMB and a lot more.
