Seven-member South Korean music group BTS has topped the chart of most tweeted about celebrities and most tweeted about musicians in the end of year (2018) review of the social media app.
BTS beat the likes of LeBron James, who came in second and Kanye West, who placed third to win the overall spot for the second time in a row with their 17.2 million followers. The band is also in the comfortable lead for the most liked tweet of 2018, thanks to their shared video of Drake’s #InMyFeelingsChallenge, which fetched them more than 1.7 million likes and 14 million views in the long run.
Coming in first place in the athletes’ column is, LeBron James, followed by Colin Kaepernick (ultimately for his Nike campaign), Kobe Bryant and Kyrie Irving both placing third and fourth respectively. Movements that made trends in the year under review had on its number 1 spot ‘March for our Lives’ and ‘NFL protests’ coming second under the most tweeted about movements’ category.
Black Panther scored first place in the most tweeted about movies for 2018, Saturday Night Live for TV shows section and 13 Reasons Why for the most tweeted about streaming shows in 2018. Rihanna, Drake, Beyoncé, Cardi B and more all made it on the 2018 round-up of most tweeted celebrities as well musicians on twitter in the US.
