Minted for the ultimate purpose of rewarding excellence in African film and television, the annual AMVCA for the past 7 years has brought together under one roof the good and best from Africa and beyond.

Aside the official categories fetching both A-listers and upcoming filmmakers’ legit spots in the world of film-making, its red carpet has also been a certified arena drawing an impressive lineup of audience to everything that the award show stands for.

From the top of high-profile names that have graced the AMVCA in past years is listed the actress, director and producer Genevieve Nnaji. Within the four consecutive years (2013-2016) that Nnaji made an appearance, she effortlessly signaled the renaissance of African red carpet and gave it another tag that competes equally to a rolled-out Cannes Film Festival red carpet.

Nnaji’s absence at the AMVCA for the last two seasons (2017-2018) does not erase her credibility as a crowd-pleaser on the red carpet.
